SUMMARY:South Asian Grief Cafe at Alchemystic Studio
DESCRIPTION:Come join us on October 11th\, from 6:00 PM – 7:15 PM\, for a South Asian Grief Cafe. This space will be a place to process\, reflect on\, and discuss death\, grief and loss with fellow South Asian Community. The intention behind this offering is to create room to safely discuss these deeply personal topics and uplift our diverse South Asian grief experiences. This Grief Cafe will include guided meditation\, reflection prompts\, and plenty of space for open discussion.  \nThis offering will be co-guided by Priyanha Nadanasabesan and Tasnim Islam.  \nPriyanha (she/they) is a Sri Lankan American community death doula and artist. Her practice expands collective approaches to end of life care at the intersection of healthcare systems and spiritual well-being. Their current work includes creating containers for grief and death such as community altars\, grief support sessions\, death cafes\, and creative processing workshops. Priyanha’s work centers collective liberation values. Her mission is to create non-judgmental and empowering spaces to explore death and loss. \nTasnim Islam (she/her) is a LGBTQIA+ training specialist and youth educator. With deep roots in South Asian culture\, and as a queer woman of color\, Tasnim has been on a journey deep into the world of holistic healing practices. She navigates the persistent presence of chronic pain. Unsatisfied with the limitations of western medicine\, she embarked on a transformation quest\, finding solace in practices such as breathwork\, traditional yoga\, bodywork\, and meditation. These profound modalities have seamlessly become a part of her spiritual journey\, harmonizing with her Islamic background and the rich spectrum of Bangladeshi cultures and traditions.  \nTo sign up for this offering\, please visit Alchemystic Studio’s class schedule at https://alchemysticstudio.com/schedule/. This will not be a clinical therapist lead offering; it is a peer-to-peer support space. Please feel free to reach out to info@priyanha.com with any questions or for alternative grief resources.  \nWe hope to see you there ❤
